Library Policies

A guide outlining basic resource and usage policies for Musselman Library.

Technology, Printing, and Photocopying Policy

Musselman Library provides technology resources in support of Bluffton University's academic programs.

Computers:

  • Bluffton students, faculty, and staff are primary users of the library’s computer workstations and will be given priority for use.
  • Community patrons, alumni, high school students, and guests of the library may use library computers for educational and research purposes when these workstations are not needed by our primary users.
  • Grade school and middle school students may use library computers on the main floor ONLY when accompanied by parent/guardian or when granted permission by senior library staff for limited time educational use.

Printing and Photocopying:

  • Current Bluffton students, faculty, and staff can print from any of the library computers or photocopy without charge. Each user is encouraged to consider alternatives to printing in the interest of environmental stewardship.
  • Community patrons may print or copy the first 10 pages for FREE during any library visit. After that, the cost is $.10 per page. Printing charges are payable at the Circulation/Info Desk.
  • All users are encouraged to consider non-printing or printing-reduction options.

ALL users of library technology resources are expected to follow campus-wide policies for responsible use.  Usage should align with Bluffton's Community of Respect.
