Guide Introduction and Objectives

Musselman Library has created this guide to assist you in completing your English research seminar project.  We hope this guide supports you as you:

  • Increase your confidence in literary research
  • Wrestle and delight in researching and writing about something that fascinates you
  • Create an article-length paper that defends and sustains your research argument
  • Consider how this research and writing will prepare you for further study

Here you'll find introductory information about pursuing literary research, as well as guidance for using and searching the library catalog, print and electronic book sources, and research databases.  We've also created a page to help you with citations and bibliography creation.
