OhioLINK Spring 2022 Service Disruption

Survival tips during the requesting shutdown

[OhioLINK requesting will be unavailable starting March 11 through the end of the semester]

We know the timing for this requesting shutdown is very challenging.  Here are some strategies for minimizing the disruption:

REQUEST BOOKS, ETC, NOW:  Please request any needed items for research or assignments as early as possible, even before leaving for spring break.  Even though requesting will stop on March 11, we will continue to receive deliveries of books and other items which were requested before March 11.

USE OUR EBOOK COLLECTIONS:  The library provides access to more than 450,000 eBooks in all disciplines and accessible from anywhere.  Use the Bluffton Library Catalog's advanced search feature, type in your search words, and choose "EBOOK" from the Material Type pulldown menu.

ASK US FOR HELP:  Use the contact points on our Need Help - Ask Us page to ask library staff for help to find research resources.

How exactly can you help?  Great question!  As always, we'll help you check our in-house and full-text/eBook options first.  Then we can add other options, like using interlibrary loan (with delivery via USPS/UPS) to request items from other libraries or by purchasing books, etc, to add to our local collections.

VISIT OTHER LIBRARIES IN PERSON:  See below for details on this option!

Visit other libraries with your Bluffton ID card

Your Bluffton University ID card can be used as a library card at any OhioLINK member library, including our nearest neighbors:

When checking out items from an OhioLINK member library with your Bluffton University ID card, tell the library staff that you are a "visiting OhioLINK patron."  Interested in visiting other OhioLINK libraries beyond our neighbors?  Use this link to see a printable map of all OhioLINK member libraries.
